It’s been a busy month of travel. We went to Paris which I shared in my last blog then we hopped on a plane to Kansas City for my husbands alumni weekend with the Kansas City Chiefs. We had not been back to Kansas City for about 5 years, life has been pretty busy since we adopted our nieces & nephews. (Do you Really have 8 Children?) We had some free time before the event which gave us a chance to visit the Jazz Museum and the Negro League Baseball Museum. Both were fantastic! I would highly recommend a visit if you are in Kansas City.
The Chiefs events consisted of Saturday night tour of the locker room area, cocktails, dinner and the induction of Priest Holmes into the Chiefs Hall of Fame. It was a very special evening catching up with some of JJ’s former teammates, coaches, Chiefs owners, staff and their wives. Sunday was game day, the alumni signed autographs before the game. It was a great game, the Chiefs vs Jets. Chiefs beat the Jets 24 -10! The Chiefs fans have always been the best fans that I have experienced. Arrowhead stadium is a great place to see a game. I don’t know if all NFL teams host an alumni weekend like the Chiefs, but, my husband and I have the utmost respect for the Chiefs and their care of former players. They really know how to make sure the alumni feel like an important part of the Chiefs organization. JJ & I want to especially thank Allen Wright the Chiefs equipment manager who we have fond memories of when JJ played for the Chiefs and who has always made sure that the alumni feel extra special.
Thank you to the Hunt Family and the entire Chiefs family! Looking forward to next years Alumni Weekend. 🙂
